You could consider becoming a Charis FD Associate.
You don’t have to have been an FD or a CFO. You may have good solid experience in: financial control, risk management, internal control, budgeting and forecasting, monthly reporting, financial modelling, M&A, statutory reporting, international tax, VAT or any finance discipline. But you are looking for a different way of working. The years of employment may have left you jaded from office politics, pressures of career progression or mind-numbing admin. Or you may be someone who can’t work full time (perhaps you have taken time out to raise young children and it’s still not possible to go back to work full time) and finds the part-time job market very limited. You may currently be an Interim Manager or Finance Contractor or Consultant, but don’t like relying on agencies and providers and don’t like the downtime in between assignments. You certainly want to feel like you are in control of your work.
What if you could work flexibly within hours that suit you, making a real difference for small and medium-sized businesses in your area?
At the outset you should realise first of all that Charis FD does not normally actively recruit associates. And secondly the kind of association we can offer is fairly loose at the moment. So we don’t want to raise your expectations too high.
Two types of Charis FD associations are currently envisaged:
Subcontract work
For some of our larger clients we may need to bring in resources at a more hands-on level, or people with specific expertise. That could make the delivery of our service more efficient and cost-effective for our clients. In these cases we may refer business to one of our associates on a subcontract basis (i.e. Charis FD bills the client, and pays the subcontractor at an agreed rate).
Two-way referrals
We all have our own networks and contacts, some are more active in business development than others. And sometimes we may come across businesses that need services like ours, but we are unable to help them. This could be because we are too busy with other clients at the time, or because the prospective client is outside our catchment area. In these cases we may refer potential clients to each other, and we would agree to a certain amount of commission for doing so. There would be no franchise fee or joining fee, and no tie to the Charis FD brand.
Obviously we will be very careful over whom we associate with, as we want to give the best service possible to our clients, and so we would want to get to know you first.
